Fire District Consolidation Completed!

As of this morning, February 4, 2021, Central FPD and Aptos/La Selva FPD have officially consolidated into one District, now known as “Central Fire District of Santa Cruz County”. The District would like to extend thanks to all the staff, agencies and members of the public who helped to make this consolidation happen.

As part of this consolidation, our website social media sites on Facebook, Instagram, NextDoor and Twitter, are all currently undergoing changes to reflect the new organization.

Our first Board Meeting for the combined Central Fire District will be held on February 9, 2021 at 9 AM (agenda to be posted within the next few days outlining details and attendance/public comment instructions).

In addition, Fire Chief John Walbridge and Fire Marshal Mike DeMars will be appearing on KSCO Radio for their “What’s Happening in Your Community” segment on Saturday, February 13th at 2 PM, to talk more about the consolidation, upcoming Board Meeting and what’s ahead for the future of the new District.  Viewers can listen in by either tuning in to KSCO AM 1080, or downloading their mobile app for live shows at:
