Brief Scenario of Incident: Early this morning, a 911 call was made to report fire and smoke in a single family residence located at 1925 Catalina Drive.  A one alarm response was dispatched to the scene.  Upon arrival, firefighters reported smoke coming from a 2nd floor bedroom of the structure.  All residence had been evacuated from the home prior to the firefighters' arrival.  One resident told firefighters that he had put out the fire with a portable fire extinguisher.  The fire was reported out shortly after arrival of emergency services and the scene was secured for overhaul and investigation.  Fire damage was contained to a bed and some personal items and one wall of the bedroom.  An ambulance was dispatched to the scene for possible injuries to the resident who extinguished the fire.  The resident refused medical treatment on scene.

Investigation Status: The cause of the fire has been determined to be accidental and possibly the result of an unattended candle.
