41st Avenue Furniture Warehouse and Showroom Fire

Central Fire Protection District has completed the performance of overhaul and salvage operations at the scene of the WorkSpace Furniture warehouse and showroom fire, located at 2701 41st Avenue in Capitola, California.  The fire that took place Monday night, January 4, 2009, destroyed both the showroom and the warehouse of the local furniture store.  The cause of the fire was not determined.  Central Fire's investigative team has narrowed the area of the fire's origin to a 15-by-15-foot plot at the scene.  Due to the extensive damage cause by the fire itself and the volume of water used to suppress it, evidence pointing to its source is insurmountable.  The cause of the fire has been officially deemed as 'undetermined.'

If you have any questions please contact the Fire Prevention Division, (831) 479-6843.
