A co-worker has just collapsed!
They are not breathing and don't have a pulse!
Do you know what to do?
DO YOU KNOW CPR?
The biological clock of death is a 4-6 minutes clock. Every second you wait to begin CPR ticks off that clock, and the chance of actually saving your co-worker, or a loved one, grows slimmer and slimmer.
It takes the average Emergency Response team 4-8 minutes to arrive after you call 911. The human brain can only survive a short 4-6 minutes without oxygen. After 6 minutes irreversible brain damage or death by will certainly occur. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, or CPR, is a technique that the lay person or medical professional can use to slow down the process of brain death by providing oxygen to the brain. It is the most important part of the "Chain of Survival" to save lives and it could save the life of someone you know or love.
CPR is simple and easy to learn. CPR can make a difference in the survivability of the person suffering from sudden cardiac arrest. Central Fire Protection District offers low cost CPR instruction in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All instruction is in compliance with the American Heart Association guidelines.
We provide Heartsaver "A" instruction. Corporate or group instruction is available upon request.
