The File of Life is a way of providing information of a patient’s medical history to first responders. These cards provide first responders with the medications and medical history of a patient in the event that the patient is unable to communicate with the first responders. File of Life cards should be posted in a conspicuous place such as the refrigerator door where they can be easily spotted and referenced by emergency first responders.
